Prof. Aziz Sancar completed his education in both Turkey and the USA, and is the first Turkish-American member to be elected to the National Academy of Sciences, representing the importance of STEM and global education.

As a promoter of the Turkish culture as well as a supporter of Turkish students in the United States, he will raise positive attention to the GIS Project, and will be a great example of global education to young girls in Turkey.

2015 Nobel laureate in Chemistry, Prof. Aziz Sancar emphasized the importance of sending girls to school.

“We need to school our girls in particular [in the field of science].
If we do not send our girls to school, we would lose half of our labor force.”
